Privacy Policy
How this free resource handles information — and why the tools on this site never store what you enter.
Last updated: June 2026
Wildfire Victims Assistance ("this site," "we," or "us") is a free informational resource provided by The Wagner Law Group, a California law firm. We care about the privacy of the people who use this site, many of whom are going through one of the hardest times of their lives. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we do and don't collect, and how it's handled.
The short version
Information we don't collect
- Anything you enter into our tools. Your inventory, item values, room names, and any notes stay in your browser. We never receive them.
- Account information. There are no accounts, logins, or sign-ups on this site.
- Payment information. Everything here is free. We never ask for payment.
Information we do collect
Anonymous usage analytics
Like most websites, we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used — for example, how many people visit a page or use a tool. This information is aggregate and anonymous: it tells us things like "the inventory tool was started 100 times this month," not who started it or what they entered. It helps us know which resources are useful so we can improve them. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies to count visits.
Information you choose to send us
If you contact us — by calling, or by submitting a form or request for a consultation — you voluntarily provide information such as your name, phone number, email, and details about your situation. We use this only to respond to you and, if appropriate, to discuss how the firm may be able to help. We do not sell this information.
Cookies
This site may use cookies (small files stored by your browser) for analytics and basic site functionality. Most browsers let you control or disable cookies in their settings. Disabling them won't prevent you from using the site or its tools.
Third-party links
This site links to many outside organizations — FEMA, the Red Cross, state agencies, and others — to help you find aid. We don't control those websites, and their privacy practices are their own. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults seeking recovery resources and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
How contact information is handled
Because this site is provided by a law firm, any information you send when contacting us is handled by The Wagner Law Group. Contacting us through this site does not create an attorney-client relationship; that relationship is formed only through a separate, signed agreement. Please don't send confidential or time-sensitive details through a web form — call us instead for anything urgent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
